Captain (N) Peter Papler is Head of the Concept Development and Experimentation Branch at the NATO Mountain Warfare Centre of Excellence.

Throughout his career, he has served in senior operational planning appointments at the Slovenian Armed Forces General Staff, NRDC-Italy, KFOR Headquarters and the NATO Defense College.

His current work focuses on NATO Deterrence and Defence Adaptation, Multi-Domain Operations, concept development, experimentation and the integration of mountain warfare into NATO's evolving warfighting concepts.

He holds a PhD in Defence Studies from the University of Ljubljana.
