Aim:
- Recap basic wargame design tools and learn to model strategies as well as tactics which model DDA-related scenarios and war dynamics.
- Gain a deep understanding of the rules and mechanics, as well as the connections with NATO doctrine, which influence gameplay.
- Encourage collaboration and communication between the participants through group games.
- Develop innovative strategies and solutions for complex situations within the game.
- Experiment with modifying the existing rules and mechanics to create new experiences.
Objectives:
- The participants will demonstrate improved strategic planning and execution in complex scenarios.
- The participants will work effectively in syndicates, using operational and tactical knowledge with enhanced communication and teamwork skills.
- The participants will analyse and adapt their tactics based on specific game situations, improving their decision-making processes.
- The participants will develop and present innovative approaches to challenges in current operational and tactical NATO solutions.
Activities:
- Design, work in syndicates, play.
Trainers and mentors:
- US Naval Postgraduate School Team.
Participants:
- Experts / Operation Planning Teams from NATO MW COE FN/SN.
- Experts from NATO member countries.
- Ranks from OF-3 to OF-5 from the Community of Interest.
Pre-requirements:
- Wargaming Design Course – Basic.
- Participants without the Basic course can attend it on 10-11 May 2025 (Saturday & Sunday prior the Advanced course).
