MILITARY TERMINOLOGY CONFERENCE

The Military Schools Centre of the Slovenian Armed Forces and its constituent part, the School of Foreign Languages organized the Military Terminology Conference, which was held in Ljubljana, 5-7 April 2022.

The theme of the conference was Giving Meaning to Military Language and invited the participants to explore challenges and experience in the fields of military terminology development, management and application. The aim of the conference was to facilitate the exchange of expertise and to offer a possibility to envision future terminology development.

The NATO MW COE participated with a presentation delivered by LTC Friedrich Ölböck (AUT A) discussing the topic of Mountain Terminology within the Mountain Warfare Centre of Excellence, explaining the Centre’s doctrinal work and the related terminological requirements in the domain of Mountain Warfare.
