(ATP) 3.2.1.3 – Conduct of Land Tactical Operations in Mountainous Environment – Published!

GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT / ALLIED TACTICAL PUBLICATION (ATP) 3.2.1.3 "CONDUCT OF LAND TACTICAL OPERATIONS IN MOUNTAINOUS ENVIRONMENT"

After almost 4 years of tireless work, Allied Tactical Publication (ATP) 3.2.1.3 “Conduct of land tactical operations in mountainous environment” was finally published in mid-April 2024. Subject matter experts in the field of mountain warfare from almost all nations with mountain troops (Community of Interest) have contributed to the creation of this regulation in numerous workshops and writing sessions. With the Mountain Warfare Concept, the Allied Training Publication (ATrainP-6 “Mountain Warfare – Training and Education”) and the now published ATP-3.2.1.3, NATO’s Mountain Warfare Centre of Excellence has provided a complete package for unified training in preparation for mountain operations. The MW COE’s Doctrine and Standardization Branch would like to thank all those who have contributed to the development of the ATP. In the interest of standardized training and possible mountain operations, we encourage all NATO nations and partners to incorporate the Tactics, Techniques & Procedures as well as principle into their national regulations. The work is never done. We welcome feedback to help us improve the ATP in the future.
