European Mountain Thunder 2022 – Day 2

Currently, the European Mountain Thunder 22 is taking off, and the nations are training various approaches for fighting in the mountainous terrain.

Today, two officers from the Mountain Warfare Centre of Excellence accompanied a Spanish platoon in the mountainous environment. A very high level of the Spanish parts was observed and the Spanish forces were able to successfully solve all the tasks assigned to them. They showed a high level of readiness for the fighting in the mountains.

In the evening, the Deputy Director and COS, COL Ruggero CUCCHINI, took the opportunity to inform the Deputy Chief of Defence of the Austrian Armed Forces, General Rudolf STRIEDINGER,  about the diverse tasks, programs, and the vision of the Mountain Warfare Center of Excellence related to mountain warfare in a multi-domain environment.
