Marking Double Jubilee: NATO’s 75th Anniversary and Slovenia’s 20 Years in NATO

On 27 March 2024, the Park of Military History in Pivka, Slovenia, with the the director mag. Janko Boštjančič, together with the Government Communication Office of the Republic of Slovenia and the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Slovenia, hosted a compelling photography exhibition celebrating NATO’s 75th anniversary. Alongside, a roundtable discussion titled “NATO 75 years – Role and Significance in the Past, Present, and Future” featured notable speakers: Dr. Damir Črnčec, State Secretary at the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Slovenia; Tiffany Sadler, Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Slovenia; Dr. Andrij Taran, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Slovenia; and Dr. John Marshall Callahan, a professor of international relations at New England College in the USA, presented their views on the current state and vision for the future development of the NATO alliance.

Moreover, the NATO Mountain Warfare Centre of Excellence (NATO MW COE) provided two exhibition panels with photos that showcased significant moments in centre’s history. NATO MW COE’s Director Colonel Leon Holc, along with some of the centre’s SNRs, actively participated in this event, underscoring the spirit of international collaboration and solidarity that defines NATO’s mission.
