Mountain Warfare Centre of Excellence ̶ Drones Workshop in BOLZANO

Headed by the Doctrine and Standardization Branch, members of the Mountain Warfare Centre of Excellence visited the NOI Techpark Südtirol (Nature of Innovation) in December 2022.

Throughout their two-day visit, the possibilities of cooperation in the field of drones were explored and discussed. During the subsequent workshop, the future performance parameters and fields of application of drones, when used in a mountainous environment, were worked out and possible trend-setting ideas were collected.

The aim of the NATO MW COE is to intensify the cooperation with the NOI,  with the aim to expand the range of applications for drones in mountainous environment and, above all, to establish necessary performance parameters for future drones for missions in difficult terrain, such as mountains.
